How do I prepare for my spray tan? Exfoliate, avoid lotions, and wear loose dark clothing. For the best spray tan results: Exfoliate & shave at least 24-48 hours before your appointment. Avoid lotions, perfumes, oils, or deodorant the day of your tan. Wear loose, dark clothing and sandals to prevent transfer. How long does a spray tan last? Spray tans last about 5–7 days with proper care. Most guests enjoy a sunless glow for 5–7 days. Longevity depends on skin type, prep, and aftercare. Keep your tan longer by: Moisturizing daily Avoiding long baths, chlorine, or exfoliants Using a tan-extending lotion and ph balanced shower cleanser available at Baja Beach Wellness What do most people wear during a spray tan? Wear what makes you comfortable—swimsuit, underwear, or nothing at all. It’s completely your choice: some guests wear swimsuits, some underwear, and some go nude for even coverage. Disposable garments are available upon request. When can I shower after a spray tan? Wait at least 8 hours before showering, sweating, or swimming. To let your spray tan fully develop, wait a minimum of 8 hours before showering, sweating, swimming, or even doing dishes. This ensures your color sets evenly and lasts longer. When you do shower: First rinse: Use warm water only—no soap or scrubbing. After 24 hours: Switch to a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser to protect your glow. Avoid hot tubs, long baths, and harsh exfoliants to maximize your tan’s life. I’m doing this for a special event or wedding. When should I come in? Schedule your bridal or event spray tan 2–3 days before. For weddings, proms, or photoshoots, we recommend booking your spray tan 2–3 days before the big event. This allows the color to fully develop and settle for the most natural look. Does a spray tan protect me from burning in the sun? No. Spray tans do not provide SPF. Spray tans only change the color of your skin—they don’t provide sun protection. Always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when enjoying the outdoors. I’m going on vacation. What should I know? Moisturize daily and be mindful of chlorine & salt water. If you’re heading on vacation: Chlorine and salt water can cause faster fading. Pack moisturizer and use it daily. No. Solutions are water-soluble and wash out easily. Our VersaSpa and Norvell solutions are designed not to stain clothing, hair, or sheets. Any light transfer is temporary and washes out with regular laundering. Why do some spray tans and sunless tanners turn me orange? Cheap formulas = orange tans. We use anti-orange, high-quality solutions. Orange tones often come from poor-quality DHA products or improper application. At Baja Beach Wellness, we use premium solutions with balanced DHA to guarantee a natural brown-toned glow—never orange. I’ve had a bad spray tan before. Are all solutions the same? No. We only use top-tier Norvell & VersaSpa formulas. Not all spray tans are equal. Some products cause streaking, odor, or unnatural tones. We use Norvell and VersaSpa, two of the most trusted names in sunless tanning, backed by science and industry recognition for natural results. Can I spray tan while pregnant? Yes—with a doctor’s note. Spray tans are applied externally and are considered safe, but at Baja Beach Wellness, we require a doctor’s note for pregnant guests to ensure safety. I have sensitive skin—can I still do a spray tan? Yes! Our VersaSpa & Norvell solutions are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paraben-free, and non-comedogenic. Yes—you can! At Baja Beach Wellness, we only use high-quality VersaSpa and Norvell spray tanning solutions that are designed to be gentle and safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
